We reject de deployment of Kenyan Army in North Kivu on pretext to support MONUSCO

PRESS RELEASE ON THE REJECTION OF REINFORCEMENT OF MONUSCO BY THE KENYAN ARMY IN NORTH KIVU, THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

After the soldiers of the EAC/RF had shown their ineffectiveness in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo precisely in Rutshuru, Masisi and Nyiragongo following their complicity with the terrorists of the M23/RDF.

The population had requested the termination of their mandate and their withdrawal from Congolese territory, which was done towards the end of last year 2023.

Surprisingly, we learn that the Kenyan Army Forces which made up the minority of this ineffective force of the EAC is present once again in the Democratic Republic of Congo but within the framework of MONUSCO under the pretext of an agreement concluded with the DRC in 2019.

We once contest this decision and we once again call on the Congolese government to take urgent measures to put these hypocrites out of harm’s way. After having balkanized South Sudan, the same Kenya (East Africa Community), seeks to also balkanize the DRC.

After 24 years of ineffectiveness, MONUSCO being incapable of bringing us peace, it must also be released and given that the date of their mandate expires, we COJESKI North Kivu as a civil society organization, contest and we prohibit their reinforcement of materials and men for given that the last date of their departure that there remains no material, man and sign from them, on the contrary we await gestures of disengagement from MONUSCO in North Kivu and their definitive departure on the 30 December 2024.
