Networking meeting of organizations in Goma DRC which are already partners of GlobalGiving
Meeting with current organizations partners of GlobalGiving held this Wednesday August 7th, 2024

The following organizations were representated: AHPVEO, AJVDC and COJESKI North Kivu and then NDSCI as observer. Two other organizations were invited but indicated their incapacity to attend the meeting.

Min One:
The purpose was to know more about each organization which now currently partner of GlobalGiving in order to build a bondage which we believe is important in achieving our goals. The idea is to reach to an objective of forming a strong network of GlobalGiving family in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Members introduced themselves and what they are doing on ground. The participants observed that they are the first team of NGOs in North Kivu to open a partnership with GlobalGiving and therefore discussed about such responsibility to become good ambassadors for others.
The participants expressed their willingness to spread information about GlobalGiving to other local organizations, associations and groups which may be interested and this will come through regular interactions.
Min Two
Generally most of the organizations are faced with funding challenges, they are all struggling in order to access funds to run their activities, there is also the challenge of human resource and especially that it is impossible to maintain a human resource if there is not money. The participants also observed that there are few opportunities for funding as donors do not invest in this country so much, but also issues affecting this country are not well-known globally which makes it hard to fundraise.
Min Three:
As per now, we have three main opportunities with GlobalGiving which are: Online fundraising, call for proposals from GlobalGiving directly and the sharing of information about the call for proposal by GlobalGiving.
Reactions from the participants
Most of the discussions focused on the need to execute very well all our projects once we receive funds from GlobalGiving, and help each other to do well in order to progress. The participants also suggested to help other associations to join and therefore our next session in on Friday about opportunities with GlobalGiving.
