Meeting for partnership with the Association Women United for Community Development in Goma DRC for vulnerable children and young girls
Great meeting yesterday for a partnership with the Association Union des Femmes pour le Development Communautaire
On Friday November 17th, 2023 we engaged a great partnership discussions with the United Women for Community Development which is an association based here in Goma also. Our partnership focused on how we can work together in order to address challenges affecting vulnerable children and vulnerable young girls.
On one side currently Goma is hit but vulnerable children from Internally Displaced Persons living in camps, everywhere in Goma you will see these children begging, others living on the streets, on top of that Goma has other vulnerable children who either do not have parents anymore, others were abandoned by their parents, and others just separated from their parents.
On the other side we have so many young people in the situation of vulnerability among them young girls who are sexually abused, child-mothers, and involved in survival sex, the situation is much difficult because of the current war that has affected so much the economy of North Kivu, and lastly young boys who have been abandoned to themselves and who have become a problem in the community.
