How does the protection of DRCongo borders affect peace in the Region as claims the Premier Minister

Excellency Madame Judith Suminwa Prime Minister of the DRC: You must defend and protect the country’s borders and not rejoice in the withdrawal of so-called 4,000 Rwandan soldiers in North Kivu. Our security should not depend on Rwanda’s goodwill to withdraw but rather on the ability of the Congolese Government to protect our borders.

Judith Suminwa, the DRC Premier Minister

In a video made public yesterday Friday October 18, 2024 in several online media, we saw Prime Minister Judith Suminwa arguing with satisfaction that Rwanda has made commitments to withdraw its troops from North Kivu, of which no one knows neither the exact number nor the quantity of military equipment, while in the Luanda/Angola Communiqué Rwanda spoke of reviewing its Defense system of Rwanda.

The Congolese authorities continue to bother us with peace propaganda as the Prime Minister said “the DRC first seeks peace” but many questions on this point: The DRC is in conflict with whom? The DRC threatens who and how? How can we seek peace without taking appropriate measures to protect our borders?

How does the Defense of our National Territory threaten peace? Why does the DRC need Rwanda’s agreement to protect our territory? How are 4,000 Rwandan soldiers really a danger to the DRC? Are we in a war of aggression or a political deal? Can we really talk about the aggression with 4,000 Rwandan soldiers? How many Congolese territories can be controlled by 4,000 Rwandan soldiers? How many M23 soldiers are there? Is it impossible for the DRC to purchase weapons more superior than those of the M23?  What does the power of Kinshasa gain in this distraction from the search for Peace, and what are the interests of Kinshasa which would be threatened by the conquest of the national territory and by a policy of defense of the national territory?

Over time, we are gradually coming to understand this war, and the inability of the current authorities of the DRC to protect our territory. Even at the Negotiation table in Luanda/Angola we do not speak the same thing, the DRC speaks of Peace, a very vague concept of which no one knows what it means while Rwanda speaks very clearly about its defense system.

How would securing the DRC and its population threaten the Great Lakes region? How does the military policy of securing the Congolese population threaten Peace?
