Brief notes about the Training on Advocacy held on July 31st, 2024 at the our offices focusing on our staff members

The training was facilitated by Kulihoshi Musikami Pecos who was the trainer and focused on Advocacy targeting our staff members and staff member of the New Dynamic of the Civil Society. In total 10 people attended the training among them three female and 7 male. The training took four (4) hours.

Objectives

The trainings focused on the following specific objectives to the participants

To impart advocacy skills and share general information about advocacy to the participants,

To strengthen the participants with key elements that can help them in order to improve their daily work,

To correct some errors that are committed during the implementation of activities,

Audience

Our audience was generally those who are doing our daily activities who are to be empowered with basic advocacy skills so that they can improve their work, this helps the two organizations to develop skills of their staff members in order to make them competitive,

The session

The training session focused on the basic about advocacy and after the four hours, the participants managed to have clear knowledge about advocacy and how best they can engage on it, this was their very first to access detailed knowledge about this topic and everyone was doing what he/she thought was good.

Achievements

The session was attended by 10 people out 11 who were planned to attend, and the session was exactly for 4hours as it was planned and the basic was shared to the participants.

Challenge

Advocacy being a wide topic required funding in order to offer a three day residential training to the participants, however as organization we do not have yet this funding.

We were not able to invite other people from other organizations in order to acquire also the necessary skills,

Way forward

While we shall capitalize on these small trainings in order to develop our human resource and for other organizations, we need to fundraise for these trainings. We have five main trainings in order to develop our personnel which include: Project Planning, making reports and implementation, leadership, fundraising, advocacy, human rights and leadership.
